Create a wooden bust of Abraham Lincoln

Or someone else: you can find STL data for almost any celebrity

Creating toolpaths and machining a bust: first the sculpture, next the inscription text   (DP V7, 20 min)

The Abraham Lincoln tutorial video teaches you how to create rotation axis toolpaths for your 4-axis CNC machine, with DeskProto Version 7. The first half of the video is about geometry machining, based on an STL file, the second half is about vector machining: engraving a text (read from a DXF file) on the sockle.

While other DeskProto tutorial video's use a free sample geometry (the Venus sculpture video) or a 3D scan (the iPhone scan video), this video uses a geometry that was bought on the Internet. Many websites with 3D models are available, both free and paid. We bought this STL file on CGTrader.com.

Rotation axis machining is possible only in the Multi-Axis edition of DeskProto.
This DeskProto video is on HD quality (1280x720 pixels).
Subtitles are available and can be switched on, in English and in Dutch.
