DeskProto CAM software now also for Linux

CAM software distributed as Linux AppImage file

The release video that announces DeskProto for Linux   (DP V7, 7 min)

Linux is more popular among makers than among office workers: especially makers that have built their own CNC milling machine. The LinuxCNC control software is an excellent option to make your Linux computer control the machine. Their next step will be a CAM program that runs on the same Linux computer, which is where DeskProto comes in: DeskProto is available as AppImage for Linux.

DeskProto offers Free CAM software: software to calculate the toolpaths for a CNC milling machine. In addition to this Free edition three paid editions are available as well, offering more functionality.

The DeskProto CAM software is available for Linux users, as 64 bits AppImage file. In the past many requests have been made if we could make DeskProto available in Linux. We are very happy that we now also can help Linux users with this easy-to-use CAM software, following our motto "CNC machining for non-machinists".

Projects made on Linux, Mac and Windows are interchangeable. Licenses for DeskProto V7 can be used to activate DeskProto on Linux, on Mac and on Windows, so existing users can switch to Linux without extra cost.

This video is on HD quality (1280x720 pixels).
Subtitles are available and can be switched on, in English and in Dutch.

This same information is also available in a Press release message.
