Introduction to the DeskProto CAM software

Part two: the dialog-based user interface

DeskProto is a CAM program: software to calculate the toolpaths for a CNC milling machine. It is offered in four different editions: one Free edition, offering only basis CAM options, and three paid editions that offer more functionality.
In DeskProto you can choose between two user interfaces:

• the wizards offer a simplified interface, great for novice users
• the dialog-based interface offers more features, to fine-tune the resulting toolpaths

This second introduction video shows the dialog-based user-interface of the DeskProto software. In the video the Free edition of the DeskProto software is used to create toolpaths for a 3D geometry (a perfume bottle). In this process most elements of the user-interface that you can see on the screen are shown and explained. The information applies to all editions of DeskProto.

Viewing this video will teach you how to use DeskProto: strongly advised for novice users. In addition: also users with prior DeskProto experience may learn some handy new tricks. The spoken text contains some small errors, that have been corrected in the subtitles.
