Use the rotary vise of a Redt Magic machine
DeskProto's 4-axis wax ring wizard makes it an easy process
Tutorial video about machining a simple wax ring on the Redt Magic-7 milling machine (DP V6, 11 min)
The Magic-7 video shows DeskProto with the Redt Magic-7 machine. This machine is aimed at jewelers, for engraving rings, pencils, hangers, etc. This video shows that it is also very suitable to create jewelry wax models.
After a short introduction about jewelry wax models DeskProto is started, and a Custom wizard called the 4 axis wax ring wizard is used to easily create the toolpaths for a ring design. After loading a standard wax tube on the machine (and setting the zero point) the NC file from DeskProto then is sent to the machine.
Rotation axis machining is possible only in the Multi-Axis edition of DeskProto. Though the video has been made with DeskProto V6, the 4-axis wax ring wizard still is present in the current version (V7.1). Note that the current version nog longer use a 30 days trial period: you can trial as long as you like. Instead a watermark will be shown on all parts when trialling. One more change: the custom wizards now can be reached only via the File menu.
