How to configure a postprocessor in DeskProto
Creating, fine-tuning and testing a postprocessor
Tutorial video about the use of postprocessors in DeskProto (DP V7, 24 min)
The postprocessor is the part of a CAM program that translates the toolpath to the correct language (format) when writing an NC file. The video explains this in more detail and illustrates that by saving toolpaths in G-code and in other NC file formats.
After that the video shows you how you can edit the postprocessor that is used, which is much easier in DeskProto than in most other CAM software.
Finally the DeskProto concept of postprocessor placeholders is explained and illustrated: a feature that allows you to add information about the current project to the NC file.
Editing a postprocessor is possible in all DeskProto editions, including the Free edition.
In the video the editor TextPad is used, however any editor can be used instead: for instance Notepad (Windows), TextEdit (MacOS) or Text Editor (Linux).
This video is on HD quality (1920x1080 pixels).
Subtitles are available and can be switched on, in English and in Dutch.
