I have a 34mm diameter tube and I want to mill ribs.
The ribs shown are 1mm wide and 0.5 mm deep.

I use rotation milling but the simulation never shows a good result.
Any suggestions how to do it?

Hi Johan,

The rotary simulation is based on voxels (small cubes), so the image is not perfect. In the Part parameters you can increase the resolution for a more accurate simulation.

The best way to accurately machine these grooves may be to do this using vector machining: a vector drawing with a series of vertical lines. When rotary machining this drawing will be wrapped around a cylinder block. You then can create one profiling toolpath for each line.
