I just saw that Rhino can integrate Deskproto, I have just purchased Rhino 8, the detailed instructions only mention earlier versions, is it possible to link to version 8, and if so how would this be accomplished. |

In the Rhino 8 Help file (topic 'Toolbar options') I read this: "Rhino 8 uses a new toolbar system very different from the previous versions. The default toolbars are read-only and embedded in the Rhino app. Changes made to the default toolbars are stored in the associated xml file in: %AppData%McNeelRhinoceros8.0settingsScheme__Default Linked toolbar files (*.rui) also have the xml files if their toolbars were ever edited. Deleting the xml file restores the original toolbars in the rui file." The instructions on this page about how to add a custom button are not very clear to me though. Anyone available who has done this in Rhino 8 ? |

I asked our German partner Filou GmbH (they sell DeskProto, Rhino and more), they replied that on their website you can download a file called [FILOU.rui]: On page www.filou.de/downloads-2/rhinoceros-3d-downloads select "Rhinoceros 3D V8" and then "FILOU Werkzeugleiste für Rhino 8" (that is German for 'FILOU toolbar for Rhino 8') to download the file. In Rhino 8 you can open that file via: Tools > Options > Toolbars, File menu > Open After opening this file you can edit the toolbar if needed. The file adds one small toolbar called FILOU, with three output options: output the current geometry to FILOU-NC-Gorilla, to DeskProto 8 or to Nestleader. You are free to alter this toolbar conform your wishes. FILOU: thanks for sharing ! |
