Dear John Smith,

This DeskProto newsletter email updates you about the latest tutorial videos and about two trade shows where you can meet us this year. The newsletter ends (as always) with a great user project. Four paragraphs in total: simply scroll down to read them all. We hope that you will enjoy reading!

V-carving detail Tutorials for V-Carving and for Inlays
Inlay tutorial video screenshot After the release of DeskProto Version 8 (November last year) we have worked on tutorial videos for the new features in that version. So far we have created two new videos:

V-Carving sends a V-shaped cutter (a 'V-bit') along a toolpath with a varying depth, which creates a groove with a varying width. This means that you can create a detailed carving with a short toolpath. The video is called
Easy V-Carving with the DeskProto CAM software.

Wood Inlays use two types of wood to create an artwork, as shown in the photo above. The Gallery project below is a second example. How you can do this is explained in tutorial video
Making inlays is easy with the DeskProto CAM software.

A video about Laser engraving will be ready soon (follow us on social media to be informed).

Trade show logo Visit us at a trade show Screenshot website page on Events We are happy to again be present on an international trade show. It has been many years since the previous one, even long before covid. The Intermodellbau in Germany claims to be the world's largest trade fair for model building & model sports. We will be present together with Filou GmbH, the DeskProto distributor in Germany, on stand 7.C40.

One month later we will be present on the Maker Faire Delft, in the Netherlands.
We hope to meet many DeskProto users on both shows, and of course many potential new users as well !

Logos of Windows, Apple and Linux Bugs fixed in Version 8 Screenshot of the build history website page. Software is never completely bug-free, in spite of all beta testing. The last few months a number of small bugs has been reported by DeskProto users, and while working on the new videos we also found some details that needed improvement. You can find a list of the latest fixes on page www.deskproto.com/support/buildhistory.php#dpv80

Screenshot of V-Carving toolpaths Gallery: a wood inlay as company sign A wood inlay company sign,on the wall This new gallery project shows the creation of this beautiful wood inlay, as company sign.
The Dutch phrase "rouw- and verliesbegeleiding" means "grief and loss counseling". A beautiful sign with wood in two colors, made with the V-Carving option in DeskProto Version 8.
The Gallery page clearly shows how this project has been realized.

Try for yourself with the latest DeskProto Free edition: it offers basic CAM functions free of charge!
It also offers the option to run any of the paid editions in trial mode. For guidance you can use the tutorials (both video and PDF) and the sample geometries.

Best Regards,

Lex Lennings.
