Dear John Smith,

This DeskProto newsletter email starts with a great idea: use an iPhone to 3D scan someone's head and then machine a sculpture. Next we ask you to write a review on Google. Five paragraphs in total: simply scroll down to read them all. We hope that you will enjoy reading !

Video screenshot New tutorial video: Scan & Sculpt Scanning my head with an iPhone When we found that all recent iPhones contain a 3D scanner (its Face ID feature) we could not wait to give it a try. This video shows what we did: scan a human head and then machine a sculpture. It works great !

This is something that many DeskProto users longed to do, but could not as 3D scanners were rare and expensive. This new trick makes it very easy.
The Scan&Sculpt video(22.5 minutes) explains and shows the scanning process, what needs to be done in DeskProto and then how to machine the sculpture. Subtitles are available in English and Dutch.

Google logo with five stars Please: review us on Google ! DeskProto reviews on Google A high ranking on Google is important for us, as many new users find DeskProto using Google search. Having many (positive) reviews helps to achieve that. It also is a good way to stand out in the long list of search results.
So our current question is:
if you like DeskProto, please share that by writing a Google review!

Video screenshot Next tutorial video: 5-axis toolpaths DeskProto screenshot mixed with tutor image We received many requests for a tutorial video about how to create 5-axis toolpaths with DeskProto. So we created one: here is the result.
The basics of 5-axis video (29 min) explains 5-axis CNC, tells about the type of 5-axis toolpaths that DeskProto supports, and shows how to create toolpaths for five sides of a simple die. Subtitles are available in English and Dutch.

Try for yourself with the DeskProto Free edition: it offers basic CAM functions free of charge!
It also offers the option to start any of the paid editions in trial mode. For guidance you can use the tutorials (both video and PDF) and the sample geometries.
