Dear John Smith,

This DeskProto newsletter email starts with the introduction video on our YouTube channel. You already know about DeskProto, still the video may mention some aspects that you did not yet know about. Next a few Tips & Tricks (that I hope will be useful for you), information about an important bugfix update and some great user projects. Five paragraphs in total: simply scroll down to read them all. We hope that you will enjoy reading !

Video screenshot Teaser: Version 8 is coming....
V-Carving the text 'William' We are thrilled that the next DeskProto version is expected this year. It will be a major update: from V7 to V8. Exciting new functions have been added in response to user suggestions; these are the most important new features:
  • V-Carving, see the photo above, including prismatic inlays
  • Toolpath animation, showing how the cutter follows the toolpath
  • An unlimited number of geometry support tabs
  • Special cutters: laser, hotwire, chainsaw, circular saw, disk cutter.
Last month the first few beta testers have started, please email us if you want to beta test (only for users who have bought a license). We are still looking for users that have a machine with one of these special cutters.
Expected release date is after the summer. When you now buy a license for DeskProto V7 you will receive a free update to Version 8.

Icons of Facebook, YouTube and Instagram How to receive more DeskProto news Screenshot of the DeskProto page on Instagram We do not send these newsletters very often. When you want to be informed about DeskProto more frequently you are welcome to follow one of our social media accounts: on Facebook, on Instagram and/or on YouTube. We also strive to regularly add more Tips & Tricks pages to the DeskProto website, for instance pages with tips for users of a certain machine brand.

Detail of the SainSmart rotation axis option Google reviews Finishing a Madalorian helment in wax on a Pocket CN machine The number of DeskProto reviews that have been written on Google has not changed much recently. Which is a pity: more reviews means more interest !
So when you are working with DeskProto:
please write a review via google.com/local/reviews.

Bugfix updates are free: they will recognize a paid license that has been activated earlier.

STL file of the ox head as shown in the webshop User project: hunting trophy in wood
The resulting 'huntiong trophy' on the wall We are happy that we can (again) share an amazing user project !
It is the head of an ox, machined in wood and displayed as a 'hunting trophy'.
The Gallery page clearly shows how this project has been setup, and how Jack has been able to achieve this life-like result on his three-axis machine.

Try for yourself with the latest DeskProto Free edition: it offers basic CAM functions free of charge!
It also offers the option to start any of the paid editions in trial mode. For guidance you can use the tutorials (both video and PDF) and the sample geometries.

Best Regards,

Lex Lennings.
