Dear John Smith,

We are happy to send you this next new issue of the DeskProto newsletter, about "CNC machining for non-machinists".  We hope that you will enjoy reading.

The resulting tree postcard

DeskProto V7 will offer real 2D CAM options
You can already see this in the new  Xmas Tree postcard video, as that offers a Sneak Preview of DeskProto V7. The video shows how to create a Christmas tree from three flat parts, that are slotted to form a 3D Tree. The flat parts are machined from a 2D DXF file, using DeskProto V7.

Free upgrade to Version 7 when you now buy V6
Beta-testing of DeskProto Version 7 has started. We cannot yet say when this new version will be released: that depends on how many problems will be found by the beta-testers...
What we can promise now is that anyone who buys a new V6.1 license now (or an upgrade to V6.1) will receive a FREE Upgrade to Version 7 when that has been released. So feel free to do your Christmas DeskProto shopping: your purchase will be up-to-date for a long time.

Model airplane

Gallery: the U-2 spy-plane as RC model
Again a great new Gallery project: the famous U-2 spy plane as RC (Radio Controlled) model. You will be amazed about the model size (wing span 2.5 meter!), the level of detail, the complicated production process. A video shows the plane in action.
Visit the  U2 Model Plane page >>

Try for yourself and download the DeskProto trial version from our website. To get started you can use the tutorials (both video and PDF) and the sample geometries.
This is all possible completely free of charge !

Best Regards,

Lex Lennings.
