Dear John Smith,

We are very happy to announce that DeskProto Version 5 has been released. This announcement is sent to you as previously you have said to be interested in the DeskProto 3D CAM software for Rapid Prototyping (www.deskproto.com).

The new version offers an improved look-and-feel: the result of many small changes in the user interface that make life easier. Of course also new functions and improvements in functionality are present. Most of them added as a result of user feedback. The most important changes are listed on www.deskproto.com/products/newinv5.php
Striking improvements include:
  • Machining bitmap data using a gray-value to Z-height conversion
  • Freeformed segments now can be nested
  • User configurable wizards based on scripts
  • Support for 64 bits Windows, making it possible to use STL files of several GB
  • Easier user interface using an improved project tree
  • Some special wizards for jewelers, like the 123WaxRing wizard
  • New strategies, like Circular and Radial toolpaths.
