Digital Manufacturing: 3D Printing and CNC machining.
3D technologies are in the spotlight, as 3D
Printing currently is the hot topic in all
mainstream media. Personal fabrication is reported to be
the next industrial revolution, with huge impact. Delft Spline
Systems has published an article in TCT Magazine on
Digital Manufacturing, comparing 3D Printing (additive) with
CNC milling (subtractive).
A Dutch version of the article has been published in de
Constructeur. Download and read on the

Customize a custom wizard (advanced topic).
A powerful DeskProto feature is scripting. Any user can make custom scripts and
custom (scripted) wizards. This is an advanced feature as some
programming skill is required. See the Reference manual for more
information on scripting. Easiest is to adapt an existing script.
DeskProto user Chris Botha adapted the JWX-30 wax ring
wizard for use on his MiniTech machine.

Moldmaking: the complete process shown.
This Gallery project by DeskProto user LaHeli in the Czech Republic clearly shows
all steps in the process of creating an injection
mold: design, machining electrodes, EDM machining, the
mold, the molding machine. Very instructive material !
DeskProto is well suited for machining electrodes and mold cavities.
