DeskProto is created with the idea to make 3D CNC machining possible for
any 3D CAD-user, not only for the large companies with their large budgets. To make this possible prices start at a very low level.

not ask any annual maintenance fee.

A
Hobby license is a full-featured license: only the price is lower than for a commercial license. Even
much lower: the hobby discount on DP Full is 75%. A few restrictions do apply though:
- A hobby license may be bought only by a
private person, not by a company
(also not by an employee or owner acting as a private person but in fact buying for the company).
- A hobby license may not be used for any commercial application.
- For hobby licenses the free support by telephone and email does not apply: use the
Forum instead.
- A hobby license may not be sold or transferred to another user.
This hobby license is a temporary bargain offer, made on Jun 1st 2010 to celebrate our
birthdays.

An
Educational license also is a full-featured license: only the price is lower than for a commercial license.
Much lower: educational discount on DP Full is 75%. Educational licenses are available only to
students,
teachers and
schools. A proof is required, like a dated student ID card.
- An educational license may not be used for any commercial application.
- An educational license may not be sold or transferred to another user.
For schools, Lab licenses and Class-packs are available.

Using a Lab license the school may install
DeskProto Full on any number of PCs in the school's network, and run it max 25 PCs simultaneously. A special Network dongle makes sure that no more than 25 programs are running at the same moment.

A Class-pack is a bundle of 25
DeskProto Lite licenses, to be installed within one classroom. To be used by students that only need DeskProto's Lite functionality.
A
lowcost school license is possible by just ordering one educational license (Full or Lite) for the teacher, and using free trial licenses for the students. Each student then can save his Project file (also once the trial period has expired) and send that to the teacher to create an NC toolpath file (not in V 4.2). So you can have your
complete classroom equipped with DeskProto Lite for
EUR 145.00 only!
(DeskProto Full EUR 248.00).
Upgrades and Updates can be bought at educational discount if the owner still qualifies for educational prices. Educational licenses and hobby licenses can be converted to commercial licenses by paying the price-difference.
DeskProto V 5.0 Full will be delivered to you in a fine box, including a printed Tutorial teaching you how to use DeskProto in six lessons, a comprehensive Reference manual (PDF), a protection dongle, and a disk with a number of example geometry files.
For
DeskProto V 5.0 Lite and
DeskProto V 4.2 purchasing is completely Internet-based. After registration you will receive an unlocking code to remove the 30 days trial protection from your software.
The
Manuals can be downloaded in PDF format, a dongle is not needed.
